Vicky Frost

Vicky’s current body of work stems from a fascination with fungi and the transformations they induce. Inspired by the otherworldly way in which fungi spring up everywhere, and amazed by the volume and variety to be found, her pieces draw attention to these smaller beings of the woodland world. Fungi are an integral part of any woodland environment, providing plants with nutrients and forming connections between the entire community via the vast mycorrhizal networks they embody.

Working in mixed media, Vicky captures the rich textures of fungi, moss and lichen using a range of materials from embroidery to expanding foam. This collection centres around the fallen tree, depicting log ends found in the woods, each of which is in the process of being reclaimed by nature – overgrown with a unique cocktail of organisms.

Ian MacCulloch

Ian works in a variety of printmaking techniques, but especially enjoys the graphic qualities presented by etching and woodcutting.  His work encompasses a wide variety of subject matter, from animals to architecture.
Often inspiration comes from the natural and manmade landscape often observed in the evening or early morning when the low sun reveals hidden texture and detail.  Many of his prints are hand coloured in order to increase vibrancy and atmosphere.

Richard lives in a wooded landscape on the edge of Dartmoor and is drawn to the simplicity of tree silhouettes and the complexity of branches. He enjoys each stage of printmaking from the drawing, carving and final printing from linocut and etching.
