All Glover and Smith Wren necklaces are handmade from solid polished lead-free pewter which is non-tarnishing (that was the lead in old pewter) and are guaranteed nickel-free and allergen friendly. They use Sterling silver chain and jump rings for their strength.
Because they use solidmetal the surface of your wren bird necklace will never flake like a silver plated necklace. To clean just wash with warm soapy water and occasionally use a silver cloth on the silver components.
