'When the daughter of James V of Scotland, Mary Queen of Scots, faced an uprising she fled to England for protection. Elizabeth I had her effectively imprisoned at Bolton Castle and later executed at Fotheringhay. At Bolton she lived quite a luxurious life but, of course, without her freedom.'
