As artists we naturally represent some of the things we love in our own work, but there is lots of work here from other artists too reminding us of what brings us happiness.
The exhibition is looking at when life and the world is maybe a little difficult or messy, how we can find joy in the simple things and art work that represents those things. What brings you joy when life is tough?

I was first inspired to look at this exhibition after listening to a radio 4 programme that had been recommended to me: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0006lmk Take a listen, it's beautiful. After this I wrote my own poem about simple pleasures and couldn't get the idea out of my head. The more I talked to friends about it the bigger the list got, the more diverse, the more interesting. And I realised that this is often the link with art I love, work that links with a feeling, an emotion that brings pleasure when other things in life can be hard. I've modified and changed an ever growing list for this exhibition but just a few of my simple pleasures are:
