An online exhibition in these unusual times. As with all of our exhibitions this year this is tied with the theme of finding happiness. For many people connecting with nature is part of that process.
This show collects a number of artists whose work is inspired by the beauty of wild meadows. All these beautiful items are available to buy and we appreciate your support for us and the artists even more at this time.

Anna Cook
Anna is an artist based in York specialising in paper cutting. The work she has produced for this exhibition is all based around the wildlife and wildness of meadows. Amazingly each piece is cut entirely by hand and painstakingly put together to make these beautiful original works.
Maggie Magoo designs
Carole of Maggie Magoo Deisgns says 'My work for this exhibition has been inspired by memories of walks in the Yorkshire countryside, through fields of flowers, butterflies & moths. There is something very uplifting about seeing wildflowers scattered across a meadow. I wanted to capture the riot of colours & shapes that are found through my embroidery art. Each piece is sewn by hand & I hope I've managed to convey the joy flowers give me.
Environmental issues are important to me and we need to protect our meadowlands. With that in mind I will be donating 10% of the profit of every hoop sold to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.'

Liz Cooksey
Liz’s inspiration comes from natural habitats; hedgerows, garden boarders and, of course, meadows. She creates shapes and structure with wire and copper in which she combines delicate fine crochet in a varied palette of subtle colours. In her more recent work there has been a development from mainly framed relief pieces to free standing three-dimensional work, to represent the ground the forms grow in.
Lil' Rabbitfoot
Samantha Yates is a stained glass artist based in Shipley, West Yorkshire. She uses the psuedonym Lil' Rabbitfoot. Her Botanical collection, rich in its individual character, is both naive and fun, revealing her appreciation of the natural environment, the simple beauty of nature and the happiness it can bring.
Leigh Shepherd
Leigh is a West Yorkshire artist who works with resin, textiles, found objects, paper and drawings. She draws alll this together to create mixed media artworks, often focussed around nature. For this exhibition she has created a few pieces based around bees that are essential for pollinating our wild meadows.
Charlotte Morrison
Charlotte is a ceramicist who's been working for 10 years from her home near Masham. She make hand-built ceramics using porcelain & stoneware clays, to create both functional & decorative items.
Meadow Pattern Collection Started in 2019, this is one of my latest patterns. Originating from my single specimen meadow vases, I wanted to create a continuous grass pattern around my forms, to have the feel of a meadow. The decoration is handpainted on using a type of slip trailer with underglazes.

Sue Dunne
Sue's work directly reflects her year-round fascination with natural history, particularly plant-life when it's wild. Over the months, seasons and years she has created a library of records in the form of ceramic moulds of pressed flowers, twigs, seeds, leaves, berries and feathers. Sue is inspired to work with something as beautiful, but so flimsy and transient, as a flower and give it more permanence in her ceramic work.
Josie Beszant
Josie is a collage artist based in Masham, North Yorkshire. She has owned and run Masham Gallery for the last 26 years. Her contribution to this exhibition is to do with connecting with nature and wildness. The works are cleaner and brighter than her usual style - reflecting on finding pockets of calm, happiness and joy in difficult times.
