Josie Beszant is an artist based in Masham, North Yorkshire, where she has owned and run Masham Gallery for over thirty years. Alongside supporting the work of other makers, she has developed a personal practice shaped by curiosity, storytelling and an interest in what connects us as humans.
Working in mixed media, she brings together collage, assemblage, text and found fragments. The beauty of the broken, the joy of the unexpected and small observed details form a visual language influenced by folklore, symbolism and a sense of everyday magic. Her work ranges from intimate pieces to story-led installations, exploring how we navigate being human in a complex and fascinating universe, and creating space for reflection, connection and wonder. |
