The green woodpecker’s call and drumming noise were believed by many cultures to foretell rain and storms. It was also associated with oak trees which were sacred trees to the Druids, the Norse and the Greeks. The silver amulet is a Mjölnir (Thor’s Hammer) with Thor being the god of thunder.
