Across the British Isles, folklore tells of the Seven Whistlers - birds whose eerie cries were said to warn of approaching storms, death & disaster. Their voices were unsettling to those who heard them.

These wall plates draw on that legend, portraying the seven species most often linked with the tale: Curlew, Golden Plover, Lapwing, Swift, Oystercatcher, Whimbrel, and Wigeon. They are a reminder of how deeply birdsong is woven into myth, memory, and the human imagination.
