SIMON GRIFFITHS
Simon grew up in rural County Durham and this is where he draws his inspiration as well as his great respect and passion for the natural world. He can often be seen, with his sketching equipment and camera, quietly observing the birdlife. Working closely with local bird sanctuaries has allowed him to carefully study the form, structure and character of birds that he then translates into his sculptures.
The wood that Simon uses for mounting the pieces on is all recycled wood - either bought from local farmers or from reclamation yards. This is very important to Simon who strongly believes in sustainability. Prices range from £75 - £650 Visit the gallery to view Simon Griffiths's work or contact us here to make an enquiry. |
CHLOE HARFORD
Chloe has been making animal sculpture since 2000 and has been inspired both by worldwide animals with appeal & the local wildlife found on the land surrounding her workshop which is set in 6 acres of woodland on the banks of the river Tamar. Her ceramics are Raku which is rapidly fired until glowing hot; its then taken from the kiln whilst still glowing and placed in a container of sawdust, this instantly combusts and the shock of the air causes the glaze to craze at which point it is covered and left to cool, the smoke from the burning sawdust penetrates the crazing giving the distinctive grey lines.
Prices range from £20 -£60 Visit the gallery to view Chloe Harford's work or contact us here to make an enquiry. |
