Friends of The House are those who choose to walk a little closer with us: supporting the life of the gallery, The Happy House, and our shared home, while receiving something meaningful in return.
This is not a loyalty scheme.

Masham Gallery, our artists’ studio, and The Happy House share one building and one way of living creatively.
This house has held working lives, gatherings, and quiet moments for centuries. The gallery has grown here for over thirty years. What happens now grows from those layers of time — from conversation, care, and time spent together — and continues to follow the rhythms of the year.
Friends help sustain this work and become part of its ongoing story.

  • Early notice of exhibitions, events, and seasonal offerings
  • A small thank-you benefit, such as a modest discount on the use of The Happy House rooms or priority booking where applicable
Being a Friend means staying in touch with what’s unfolding here — creatively, seasonally, and communally.

walking the year

Alongside exhibitions and events, we create seasonal boxes as a way of marking moments in the year.
Walking the Year is a series of eight gentle offerings inspired by seasonal thresholds, the Wheel of the Year, and the rhythms of making and living in this place.

The boxes may include:
  • Small works by artists or makers
  • Thoughtfully chosen objects for everyday ritual
  • Printed words, images, or reflections
  • Pieces that speak of time, place, and careful making

Seasonal boxes are offered individually and can be joined as and when it feels right. Friends of the House are always the first to hear about them and may receive priority access or a small saving.
​There is no expectation to receive all eight.
