Charlotte Morrison

Charlotte is a ceramicist who has been working for over 16 years from her home on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Using handbuilt porcelain and stoneware, she creates both functional and decorative pieces that balance delicacy with quiet strength.
Her work is inspired by the small treasures she gathers from walking and gardening – seed heads, grasses, leaves and fragments of the landscape. These collected moments are translated into gentle imagery and repeating patterns that move across her surfaces. Each piece carries a sense of place and season, echoing the rhythms of the countryside surrounding Masham. Charlotte has several collections of work but also makes one off pieces for exhibitions. At Masham Gallery, her ceramics sit beautifully – thoughtful, tactile objects made for everyday use, yet rich with the feeling of the Dales just beyond the door. |

We always have some of Charlotte's work in the Gallery but we may also have some in our seasonal selection in the online shop as well.

Here's a short film we made several years ago about Charlotte and her ceramics.
Charlotte is part of the ongoing Artists’ Collections project — a small group of artists brought together by a shared interest in natural history, collecting and observation. Together they create exhibitions, books and collaborative projects exploring the quiet connections between art, objects and the natural world.
