When I paint I like to use mixed media such as tile cement, hand made paper, dried leaves, beeswax, textiles and copper leaf, the paint is usually oil applied with rags as well as brushes. I enjoy the whole experience of making a piece of artwork including making all my own frames and canvases.
Much of my inspiration comes from films and literature, and the constant notion of the human condition.
An area of increasing interest is the idea of nature as a temporal art form, and much of my work currently reflects this theme. |
