| Scott was born in London in 1952. He studied music and drama at Durham University and began selling work shortly after. Although initially an artist in oils and acrylics he began painting in watercolour on moving to Wensleydale in 1987. Originally his approach to landscape painting was heavily influenced by the philosophy of the English artist Paul Nash and, like him, Scott strives to invest his work with the personality of the landscape he is portraying. Similarly he regards his abstract work as a continuation of the ideas of the New York 'abstract expressionist' school. |

His work is now available in galleries throughout Great Britain and prints of his paintings are available world wide. |
