What is your studio like?
Cold, but interesting  views from the windows.

Do you work with music or silence?
Music, mainly radio 3, sometimes old favourites like Queen played really loud.

Do you know how it will turn out before you start?
I always think I know but it never turns out that way. Probably be pretty boring if it did.

Biggest ever piece?
Wood fired garden sculpture, about 80cms high or large tiled mural, about 90sq ft made with another potter and 250 school children

Smallest ever piece?
brooches.

What’s it all about?
Dunno

Favourite work ( your own)
The latest pots to come out of the kiln, for about 24 hours.

Sketchbook or no sketchbook?
I do keep sketch books and sometimes I flick through them to look at all the work I've planned but some how never got round to making.

Is modern art rubbish?
No only the critics who insist on writing in more and more obscure and convoluted ways in the misguided belief that they are making art more accessible.

What is the most insulting thing anyone has ever said about your work?
That my pots were cheaper than the ones they had seen in Tunisia, I think it was intended as some sort of compliment but they didn't buy any.

Damien Hirst or David Hockney?
David Hockney not only for his work but his ability to talk about it without using jargon.

Rothko or Rolf (Harris)?
Rothko.

Tracey Emin or Tony Hart?
Tracey Emin, there's always room for painful honesty.

Can art change the world?
Don't know but it's worth a try

What is the colour of happiness?
Yellow.

What was the worst job you ever had?
Working in a Green Shield stamp shop just before Christmas with a tape playing the same carols over and over again.

If the art doesn’t work out whaddya gonna do?!!
Just carry on. They can't give me the sack, can they?
