Who was/is your biggest inspiration/influence?
Jenny Saville - her work is a refreshing slap in the face for anyone who thinks that thin is beautiful. Cy Twombly - Beautiful words written in a beautiful way. Subtle, barely tangible images and ideas. I'd like to go on a date with him, crawl up inside his big woolly jumper (he strikes me as a woolly jumper wearing guy) and find out what's going on in that head of his.
Anita Klein - she shows how the little things in life are the most important.
Egon Schiele - a bit of a weird pervy type bloke but an absolute legend when it comes to mark making and drawing the human form.
Favourite place?
I do like to be beside the sea side...
Where would you like to be in 5 years time?
Happy, content, still painting, living by the sea, pregnant and dating either Jonny Depp or Bono.
What's it all about?
Doing what you like and liking what you do.
Tracey Emin or Tony Hart?
It's got to be Tony, as he doesn't write newspaper articles about how much he hates his vagina. Having said that, I did send a picture into him once and he didn't put it in The Gallery. Tricky...very tricky....
What is the colour of happiness?
As many colours as possible. Perhaps a rainbow...
What was the worst job you ever had?
Working 12 hour shifts in a pork pie factory. The smell still haunts me....
Whaddya gonna do if the art doesn't work out?
Run naked and wailing through the streets...perhaps it will be taken for conceptual artwork and Mr Saatchi will call me and ask me to be in his next exhibition. Anything is worth a shot to keep me from the pies...
London or the lake district?
London shmundon. The lakes every time.
Can art change the world?
It already did when Manet created 'Olympia'.
What is your studio like?
Hot in summer, beyond cold in winter, a colourful place with inspiration lurking in the corners just waiting to jump out and wrestle me to the floor. I've laughed in it and I've cried in it...I love it and wouldn't be without it.
