Like most painters I am constantly trying to find new ways of working. This process of exploration usually results in a few successes which go on to become larger, more developed works and a large pile of rejects - this collection of pictures is drawn from the former group. These paintings and colour sketches reflect the avenues I have wandered down over the last two years: working outside, watching the weather, abstraction, working in monochrome, using acrylic ink, mixing media and finding new textural techniques.
